Presentation about CLARIN at the scientific conference History of the Croatian Language and the Digital Age – Commemorating the 500th Anniversary of Marko Marulić’s Death

On the occasion of the 500th anniversary of the death of Marko Marulić, the Father of Croatian Literature, a scientific conference History of the Croatian Language and the Digital Age – Commemorating the 500th Anniversary of Marko Marulić’s Death was held at the National and University Library in Zagreb on 21st and 22nd November 2024. At the conference, organized by the Institute for the Croatian Language and the National and University Library, CLARIN ERIC, HR-CLARIN and  CLARIN Knowledge Centre for Croatian language Croatina were presented.

CLARIN Annual Conference 2024

This year's Clarin 2024 conference as the main annual event of those working on the CLARIN infrastructure for the wider community from humanities and social sciences was held in Barcelona. A wide range of topics were discussed, including the design, construction and operation of the CLARIN infrastructure, the data, tools and services it contains or needs, its actual use by researchers and teachers, its relationship with other infrastructures and projects.
Members of the Croatian consortium presented two papers. Bojana Mikelenić, Antoni Oliver and Marko Tadić presented the work Expansion of the RomCro corpus with texts in Catalan in the form of a poster at the main part of the conference. At the post-conference workshop Comparable and Interoperable Corpora of Academic Texts, Vanja Štefanec and Mako Tadić presented a new specialized corpus of the Croatian language, the Croatian Scientific Corpus.
